
Jonah Young
Jonah Young is an endurance coach and UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coach with a Masters degree in Sports Science. He has worked in high-performance sport since 2015, including with the South African National Rowing Team, where he supported the programme through the Tokyo 2020 Olympic cycle.
A competitive trail runner, Jonah combines practical experience as an athlete with a strong foundation in human physiology, training load management, and performance science. He firmly believes in the role of strength training for endurance performance and long-term athlete durability, integrating this into a holistic coaching approach.
His coaching philosophy centres around applying evidence-based principles in a way that is individualised, practical, and sustainable. Passionate about helping athletes navigate the complexity of endurance training, Jonah aims to bridge the gap between scientific understanding and real-world application, empowering athletes to train smarter, stay healthy, and achieve their potential.
